Planning development in rural areas

Planning development in rural areas is useless??? Is it true??

it may be true for the opinion of some people but my opinion is different and i totally reject the  statement because it is something that is not true and totally wrong.
Development means a change that can be seen, from a bad situation into a better and also from a backward state to more advanced.

Planning development in rural areas is actually necessary and should be implemented as soon as possible. Covering various aspects of development in terms of economic, social and others.

The development research of selected villages in the less developed category is a detailed study involving aspects of :

  • physical planning
  • economic
  • social
  • poverty level

development in rural areas

Rural development has been the core focus of the Malaysian economic policies since
her independence in 1957 through the 1990s. The rural sector is pivotal to the
country’s economic growth, social and political development.

Definition of rural area

  • the area has a population of less than 10 000 people with features agriculture and natural resources in where people live either in cluster, parallel or scattered.

The rural sector economy is mainly agriculture-based as more than threequarter
of her population are involved in agricultural activities.

Change the face of rural and infrastructure development as planned by the Government should in line with the other filling to ensure the rural residents are equally able to feel the blessings of development and not too isolated from the mainstream of development on average more favorable to the urban population in all terms.

By bringing all infrastructure facilities to rural areas will indirectly lead to over flow of other developments helped boost development and economic activities.

Indirectly, this will help increase the income of rural residents by economic activity, particularly the farmer.

Most importantly, the rapid development in rural areas can also prevent the migration of young people to urban areas.

the concept plan

Our study area is in Butterworth Jetty including all the main facilities, which is :

  1. Penang sentral
  2. taxi station
  3. railway station
  4. jetty terminal
we proposed to design the sustainability transportation hub in this area, it is because there is some problem about traffic congestion and the lack of integration between all the transportation facilities.

the good and efficient transportation service will increased the accessibility and thus will generated the economy.

understand the urban sprawl

Urban sprawl in particular may be associated with national issues, particularly relating to the need to increase quality of life forlocal people living near major cities.

Among the key issues related to urban sprawl:

  •  destroy the neighborhood atmosphere and the sensitivity of the area to the original settlement
  •  affect the quality and lifestyle of people living in the suburbs in the metropolitan region.
  • Many traditional villages on the outskirts of the metropolitan region is considered as a monument or symbol of rural community
     2. The imbalance of the population (either in terms of race and status) are significant in home ownership, especially in new housing areas are built on the edge of metropolitan.

     3.  Local people who live in suburban settlements as a whole does not have high competitiveness in investment properties or in the urban economy. Their economic status is very low and not sustainable.

 4. environmentally sensitive areas on the edge of metropolitan such as water catchment areas, slopes, and forest reserves.Development processes are not careful will disturb the soil structure that may cause the soil to settle, soil erosion and flash floods, especially in the traditional settlement
